As of April 2026, Liz Tomforde is best known as a contemporary romance novelist whose work grew out of a life already shaped by sports. Born and raised in Northern California and the youngest of five children, she grew up watching and playing sports, later played college volleyball, and remained closely tied to that world through her work as a flight attendant for an NHL team. That mix of fandom, travel, and firsthand access gave her fiction its unusually concrete athletic settings.
