Born: July 14, 1966 – Latrobe, Pennsylvania, United States
Keith Ferrazzi is an American author and executive coach who writes about networking, relationship-building, leadership, and team collaboration. He is best known for Never Eat Alone and Who’s Got Your Back, books that helped popularize relationship-driven professional development; Never Eat Alone became a New York Times bestseller.
Keith Ferrazzi’s public story begins in western Pennsylvania, where he grew up during the 1970s steel downturn. He has described listening to his father talk about life at the mill and watching his parents take whatever work they could find after layoffs hit the region. That background helps explain the through line in his later work: an interest in how teams perform under pressure and how systems either enlarge or waste human effort. After Yale, a stint in manufacturing exposed him to Total Quality Management; after Harvard Business School, he joined Deloitte and rose quickly, becoming the youngest person elected partner and the firm’s global CMO.
