Biography & Author's Journey
Jeneva Rose grew up in Wisconsin and began writing early, treating stories as both play and private correspondence. As a child, she left short stories and unfinished chapters on the kitchen table for her mother, who answered with handwritten notes in the margins. She kept returning to fiction through high school and college, and she has recalled that a college film class on horror sharpened her sense that suspense could entertain while also reflecting something darker about ordinary life. After losing her mother in college, writing became more than a habit; it became a way to work through grief and prove to herself that she could finish a book of her own.
