Emily P. Freeman is an American Christian author and podcast host whose work explores spiritual formation, discernment, and vocation in everyday life. She is known for The Next Right Thing, Simply Tuesday, Grace for the Good Girl, and A Million Little Ways, and is a Wall Street Journal bestselling author.
Emily P. Freeman’s writing life grew out of a mobile early life and a practical first career. Born in Indiana, she spent formative years in Indiana, Iowa, South Carolina, and Michigan before moving to Greensboro, North Carolina, for college. She earned a B.S. from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and later completed a master’s degree in Christian Spiritual Formation and Leadership at Friends University, where she now serves as a residency lecturer. She has said she grew up in an evangelical context and did not discover spiritual direction until adulthood. Before writing became central, she worked for several years as a nationally certified sign language interpreter.
