Chip Heath is a Stanford Graduate School of Business professor and bestselling coauthor, with Dan Heath, of Made to Stick, Switch, Decisive, and The Power of Moments. His work focuses on ideas, decision-making, and behavior change, and has influenced business and popular audiences through widely translated, internationally read books.
Chip Heath built his career at the intersection of psychology, organizational behavior, and practical communication. Trained first as an industrial engineer at Texas A&M University and later earning a PhD in psychology from Stanford, he taught at Duke and the University of Chicago before joining Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he became the Thrive Foundation for Youth Professor of Organizational Behavior and is now professor emeritus. His early research focused on why some ideas survive in the social marketplace while better ones disappear, a question he pursued through the study of rumors, proverbs, urban legends, and classroom experiments.
