Bob Burg is an American author and speaker focused on sales, networking, influence, and relationship-based business. He is best known for coauthoring The Go-Giver with John David Mann and writing Endless Referrals. The Go-Giver has sold more than one million copies and been translated into dozens of languages.
Bob Burg built his reputation not by arriving through a conventional literary path, but by moving through several communication-centered careers until he found the one that fit. He began in broadcasting, first as a radio sportscaster and then in television news in the Midwest, before shifting into sales when he concluded that anchoring would not be his long-term future. That transition proved formative. With little formal sales training, he taught himself by studying, testing ideas in the field, and observing how trust actually worked in business. The frustrations of those early years became the raw material for the ideas he would later turn into books, speeches, and training on referrals, influence, and value creation.
