Paul David Tripp is a Christian pastor, author, and speaker whose work centers on grace, spiritual growth, parenting, marriage, and biblical counseling. He is known for books including New Morning Mercies, Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands, and Parenting, and his teaching resources are widely used in evangelical discipleship and pastoral care.
Paul David Tripp was born in Toledo, Ohio, in a family newly committed to Christian faith, and the strains within that home, despite regular worship and church life, helped shape his lifelong concern with how the gospel meets ordinary trouble. He studied Bible and Christian education at Columbia Bible College, later earned an M.Div. from Reformed Episcopal Seminary, and completed a D.Min. in biblical counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary. Before he became widely known as an author, he planted a church, helped found a Christian school, wrote worship songs, toured with a Christian band, taught at CCEF and Westminster, served at Tenth Presbyterian Church, and in 2006 launched Paul Tripp Ministries.
