Dean Burnett

出生: July 31, 1982 – Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom

Dean Burnett is a Welsh neuroscientist and science writer whose work makes brain science and psychology accessible to general readers. He is best known for books including The Idiot Brain, Happy Brain and Psycho-Logical, and for journalism and columns that translate neuroscience research into clear, often humorous popular science.

传记与作者历程

Dean Burnett is a Welsh neuroscientist, author and broadcaster whose career joins academic training with an unusually conversational public voice. He grew up in South Wales in a non-academic background and has said that he was the first in his family to take A-levels. He studied at Cardiff University, earning a BSc before later completing a PhD on the hippocampus and configural learning, and went on to teach psychiatry on Cardiff University’s online MSc before becoming an honorary research fellow in the School of Psychology. Running alongside that academic path was an on-and-off involvement in stand-up comedy, a strand of his life that helped shape the dry, accessible tone of his later writing.
