Best known for the bestselling Heartstopper series, she also wrote Solitaire, Radio Silence, and Loveless, with Heartstopper later adapted for television by Netflix.

Alice Oseman, born in Chatham, Kent, in 1994 and raised near Rochester, emerged early as a writer drawn to the intensity of ordinary adolescence: exams, online life, friendship, alienation, and the pressure to become someone before one is ready. While studying English at Durham University, Oseman sold the debut novel Solitaire, a pivotal break that turned private teenage writing into a public career. Published when Oseman was 19, Solitaire introduced a voice that was observant, contemporary, and unusually attentive to the interior lives of young people navigating school, identity, and digital culture.
