    The adrenal glands are responsible for producing cortisol, a hormone that is essential for the body's natural stress response. While often viewed negatively, cortisol from the adrenal glands is actually meant to help us navigate challenges. Under normal conditions, these glands follow a circadian rhythm that supports waking up and winding down, but modern stressors like information overload can cause these glands to maintain high hormone levels inappropriately.

    Information overload has become a significant modern stressor, with 69 percent of adults citing it as a major challenge in 2026. This constant influx of data contributes to chronic stress, which breaks the natural cortisol rhythm and keeps the body in a state of high alert. This biological stress response makes it difficult for many adults to function, as the constant pressure prevents the hormone levels from dropping as they should.
