However, the liver is unique in its ability to regrow functional mass, and even scarred livers can show regression if inflammatory triggers like alcohol and visceral fat are removed. While heart and kidney scars are generally permanent, you can improve "functional recovery" by training the remaining healthy tissue to work more efficiently and optimizing the cellular environment through lifestyle changes.
