Le football gaélique se distingue du football européen par l'utilisation des mains et des pieds. Contrairement au soccer, les joueurs peuvent porter le ballon sur quatre pas, le jongler (solo) ou le frapper au poing. Le terrain est plus grand et les poteaux sont en forme de H. On marque des points soit dans le filet (3 points), soit entre les poteaux au-dessus de la barre transversale (1 point).
