Despite their reputation as lazy cheats, female cuckoos face tremendous challenges-monitoring 10-15 nests simultaneously, timing egg-laying perfectly within a three-day window, and completing the egg swap in just six seconds. Their specialized brain structure, with an enlarged hippocampus, supports their extraordinary spatial memory and observational skills.
