Zig Ziglar, born Hilary Hinton Ziglar in Alabama in 1926, grew up in modest circumstances in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Known as “Zig” from an early age, he attended college in Jackson, Mississippi, but left without a degree, entering the workforce to support his family. His early professional life began in 1947 with WearEver Cookware in South Carolina, where he quickly rose from a struggling young salesman to field manager and eventually divisional supervisor, a testament to his resilience and positive mindset during financially difficult years.
