Rob Moore is a British entrepreneur-author whose public story begins not in publishing but in work. As a boy he helped in the family pub business, and in his teens and twenties he moved uncertainly through different identities, including landlord and struggling artist. The decisive break came in late 2005, when his father suffered a severe breakdown; Moore has described that episode, together with his own £50,000 consumer debt at about age twenty-five, as the shock that forced him to act. Within a year he says he had cleared the debt, and soon after he and Mark Homer began acquiring property at speed, building the base from which Moore became a millionaire before turning thirty-one and later co-founded the Progressive Group of training and property businesses.
