Michael Masterson
Michael Masterson is the former pen name of Mark Ford, an American business writer focused on entrepreneurship, wealth building, and direct-response copywriting. His notable books include Ready, Fire, Aim and Automatic Wealth. Michael Masterson is the pen name under which Mark Morgan Ford became widely known as a writer on business, persuasion, and wealth. He grew up in Brooklyn and began publishing early, selling a homemade booklet to classmates at age 12. His formal study centered on English literature at Queens College and later the University of Michigan; he also pursued doctoral work at Catholic University without finishing the dissertation. A formative turn came in the mid-1970s, when Peace Corps service in Chad had him teaching English literature and philosophy at the University of Chad and producing a newsletter for fellow volunteers.
