Meanwhile, heart disease remains America's number one killer despite our obsessive focus on cholesterol numbers. What if everything we've been told is backwards? What if the molecule we've demonized is actually essential for survival, and the real culprits have been hiding in plain sight on our dinner plates? Think of cholesterol as your body's Swiss Army knife-versatile, essential, and completely misunderstood.
