Andrew Yang

生年: January 13, 1975 – Schenectady, New York, United States

Andrew Yang is an entrepreneur, policy advocate, and author whose writing focuses on automation, universal basic income, and the future of work in America. His notable books include The War on Normal People and Forward, and his ideas gained national prominence during his 2020 U.S. presidential campaign.

経歴と著者の歩み

Andrew Yang was born in Schenectady, New York, in 1975 to parents who had immigrated from Taiwan as graduate students, and he was raised in Westchester County in a household that emphasized education, security, and upward mobility. He studied political science and economics at Brown University and then attended Columbia Law School, where he served on the Law Review. His early career followed an elite professional script only briefly: after roughly five months at Davis Polk, he left corporate law for startups, education, and entrepreneurship, eventually becoming chief executive of Manhattan Prep before founding Venture for America in 2011.
