    La difficulté ne relève pas d'une simple tristesse, mais d'une véritable dépendance neurochimique. En raison du comportement imprévisible de l'évitant (alternant entre chaleur et froideur), le cerveau du partenaire devient accro aux pics de dopamine lors des réconciliations. Après la rupture, le taux de cortisol reste élevé car le système nerveux demeure en mode alerte. Le cerveau a alors tendance à effectuer un montage vidéo sélectif des bons moments pour tenter de retrouver sa dose de réconfort, ce qui prolonge la sensation de manque physique.

    Pas du tout. Pour un profil évitant, le silence est souvent une stratégie de survie plutôt que de l'indifférence. Initialement, ils ressentent un soulagement parce que la pression de l'intimité, qu'ils perçoivent comme un danger, disparaît. Cependant, ils pratiquent la nostalgie différée : ils compartimentent leurs émotions et les mettent au congélateur sous le travail ou les sorties. Le manque peut mettre des semaines, voire des mois, à les rattraper une fois que leur système nerveux s'est apaisé.

    Il s'agit d'un cercle vicieux où un partenaire anxieux demande de la proximité pour se rassurer, ce qui provoque chez l'évitant un sentiment d'étouffement et un besoin de s'éloigner. Pour briser ce cycle, il est essentiel de pratiquer un véritable silence radio. Ce dernier ne doit pas être utilisé comme une manipulation pour faire revenir l'autre, mais comme une période de désintoxication personnelle. En coupant tout contact et en arrêtant de surveiller les réseaux sociaux, on permet à son propre système nerveux de sortir de l'état de manque et de reconstruire son estime de soi.

    Le script suggère plusieurs techniques concrètes, comme la règle des 24 heures : écrire le message sans l'envoyer et attendre le lendemain pour constater que l'envie est passée. Il est aussi conseillé de tenir une liste physique de tous les moments où l'on s'est senti rejeté ou incompris afin de contrer l'idéalisation romantique. Enfin, l'utilisation de la substitution physique, comme faire du sport ou appeler un ami protecteur dès que l'impulsion survient, aide à rediriger l'énergie émotionnelle vers des actions constructives.
