Mientras que un detractor puede ser reactivo, un pensador crítico utiliza habilidades técnicas para evaluar la credibilidad de las fuentes y detectar falacias, combinándolas con una actitud de humildad intelectual y apertura mental. Ser crítico implica estar dispuesto a cambiar de opinión ante una evidencia mejor y someter los propios prejuicios a un interrogatorio constante, buscando la verdad por encima de la aprobación del grupo.
