Frank Ostaseski è l'autore di Sette inviti: Cosa la morte può insegnarci sulla vita e un pioniere nelle cure contemplative di fine vita. Insegnante buddista ed esperto di fama internazionale in materia di mindfulness e morte, nel 1987 ha co-fondato lo Zen Hospice Project, il primo hospice buddista d'America, dove ha stabilito un modello innovativo di assistenza compassionevole.

Nel 2005 ha fondato il Metta Institute, formando migliaia di medici e operatori sanitari in tutto il mondo.

Ostaseski ha accompagnato oltre 1.000 persone attraverso il processo del morire e ha tenuto conferenze presso la Harvard Medical School, la Mayo Clinic e importanti aziende come Google e Apple.
