Ruth Ware

Nato: September 26, 1977 – Lewes, East Sussex, United Kingdom

Ruth Ware is a British crime and psychological thriller novelist known for suspense-driven, modern locked-room mysteries. Her notable books include In a Dark, Dark Wood, The Woman in Cabin 10, and The It Girl. A New York Times-bestselling author, her work has been translated into dozens of languages.

Biografia e Percorso dell'Autore

Ruth Ware built her career through a long private apprenticeship. She grew up in Lewes, studied English at the University of Manchester, and wrote stories from childhood onward, first on her mother’s typewriter and later in increasingly long manuscripts she kept mostly to herself. In early adulthood she worked in and around books, including waitressing, bookselling, teaching English as a foreign language, and press work; those years gave her both industry knowledge and a certain intimidation about trying to join the shelves herself. The decisive turn came in her thirties, when raising two small children convinced her to stop treating fiction as a hidden hobby and start sending manuscripts to agents.
