Robert Galbraith

Nato: July 31, 1965 – Yate, Gloucestershire, England

Robert Galbraith is the pseudonym J.K. Rowling uses for crime fiction, best known for the Cormoran Strike detective series, which began with The Cuckoo’s Calling. Galbraith’s novels focus on investigative mystery and psychological suspense and have become international bestsellers, with several adapted for television as Strike.

Biografia e Percorso dell'Autore

Robert Galbraith is the pen name under which J.K. Rowling developed a second major literary career, this time in crime fiction. The background behind the name begins with Rowling’s own early life: she was born in England, educated at the University of Exeter, and became internationally known through the Harry Potter novels before turning to adult fiction. The creation of Robert Galbraith marked a deliberate turning point. She wanted her detective work to be read without the weight of her fame, and when The Cuckoo’s Calling appeared in 2013, it was initially received as the debut of an unknown former military investigator turned novelist. Once Galbraith’s identity was revealed, the experiment changed in scale but not in intent: the pseudonym remained the vehicle for a more procedural, darker, and socially observant body of work.
