A.J. Finn, né Daniel Mallory à New York en 1979, est l'auteur à succès de La Femme à la fenêtre et un ancien cadre de l'édition spécialisé dans les thrillers psychologiques et les romans policiers. Son premier roman s'est hissé en tête de la liste des meilleures ventes du New York Times en 2018, marquant la première fois depuis 2006 qu'un premier roman franchissait cette étape.

Finn a passé plus d'une décennie à travailler dans l'édition chez William Morrow et Little, Brown, tant à New York qu'à Londres, où il a édité et acquis des œuvres d'auteurs acclamés tels que Robert Galbraith, Agatha Christie et Patricia Cornwell.
