Richard Russell Riordan Jr. est né en 1964 à San Antonio, au Texas. Il est l'auteur classé n°1 des meilleures ventes du New York Times pour La Bataille du labyrinthe, le quatrième tome de sa série révolutionnaire Percy Jackson et les Olympiens.

Ancien professeur d'anglais au collège pendant quinze ans, Riordan mêle avec brio la mythologie grecque à l'aventure contemporaine. Il crée des récits de fantasy au rythme effréné qui captivent aussi bien les lecteurs réticents que les plus passionnés.
