The pursuit of challenging goals strengthens masculinity, while easy paths make men weak. Men must resist drifting toward the easiest jobs or "cinch" classes, instead accepting stronger challenges that require more training and sacrifice. A man must work at the peak of his capacity rather than doing the minimum. A masculine man stirs a woman's heart. When he displays strength, courage, or any manly quality, women are naturally moved. His masterfulness awakens admiration in women-not just for him as a person but for his manly qualities. Importantly, manliness makes a woman feel womanly. Our troubled times desperately need men of character in government, communications, industry, education and all fields. While honest men have built civilization, the dishonest have destroyed it. Our greatest need isn't technological advancement but spiritual growth. We need masculine men with courage and determination, but refined by noble purpose for public good rather than selfish advancement. The special reward of worthy character is peace of mind or inner happiness. This isn't necessarily a life free of problems, but one free of inner turmoil. Spiritual growth parallels mental health-only by overcoming self-centeredness and self-indulgence can we gain peace of mind.
