Carl Valdemar Jussi Henry Adler-Olsen est l'auteur danois de romans policiers à succès de Journal 64, le quatrième volet de sa série internationalement acclamée, le Département Q. Né à Copenhague en 1950, Adler-Olsen apporte une profondeur psychologique unique au noir scandinave, façonnée par son enfance en tant que fils du célèbre psychiatre Henry Olsen et ses études en médecine, sociologie et sciences politiques. Journal 64 explore des thèmes historiques sombres, notamment l'eugénisme et les abus institutionnels, reflétant sa compréhension profonde de la manière dont les systèmes sociétaux peuvent faire défaut aux individus vulnérables.

Avant d'écrire la série du Département Q, Adler-Olsen a rédigé plusieurs thrillers internationaux, dont Alphabet House et The Washington Decree.
