Biographie et Parcours de l'Auteur

Gerald G. May was an American psychiatrist, theologian, and spiritual writer whose career joined clinical practice to contemplative Christianity. Born in Hillsdale, Michigan, on June 12, 1940, he was the half-brother of the existential psychologist Rollo May. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1962 and earned his M.D. from Wayne State University in 1965. Early posts in Air Force hospitals and at Andrews Air Force Base, followed by work in addiction treatment, prison mental health, and medical teaching, exposed him to dependence, suffering, and the limits of purely technical care.
