Learn to overcome completion anxiety and finish the last ten percent of your projects. Explore why the fear of judgment and perfectionism stall your progress.

As long as it’s unfinished, it remains 'hypothetically brilliant.' The moment you submit it, that dream of perfection collapses into a messy reality; your brain sees 'finishing' as the end of the safe version of the dream.
How to overcome the tendency to keep pushing the finishing line due to seeing every flaw (the 'holes in the cheese' mindset), focusing on moving past the polishing phase and actually completing projects and get my self into the world

Completion anxiety is a specific psychological surge that occurs when a project is nearly finished. Unlike standard procrastination at the start of a task, this paralyzing fear strikes at the ninety percent mark because the work is about to become real and subject to the world’s judgment. It represents the moment where abstract effort turns into a concrete verdict on your competence, making the finish line feel scarier than the starting gun.
The fear of judgment often leads to a "holes in the cheese" mindset, where you focus entirely on tiny flaws and gaps instead of your overall progress. As long as a project remains unfinished, it retains the potential to be perfect. Once it is completed and sent out, it becomes a finished product that people can criticize, which often causes creators to stall to protect themselves from external evaluation.
Perfectionism acts as a safety net by keeping a person in a perpetual "improvement mode." By claiming a project needs just one more tweak, an individual can avoid the vulnerability of finishing. This behavior ensures the work is never exposed to the world, allowing the creator to feel safe. However, this mindset prevents progress, as the final ten percent of the work remains trapped on a hard drive for years without ever being truly completed.
