Discover how quantum computing works. Learn about qubits, superposition, and entanglement to understand how quantum mechanics is shaping the future of computing.

By the time you get to just 300 qubits, you have more simultaneous states than there are atoms in the entire observable universe. It’s like we’ve been trying to read the book of nature in a language we only half-understand, and quantum computing is the Rosetta Stone that finally lets us read the whole thing.
Quantum computing is a revolutionary field that uses the principles of quantum mechanics to process information. Unlike classical computers that use bits representing either 0 or 1, quantum computers use qubits. These qubits can exist in multiple states simultaneously, allowing the system to perform complex calculations at speeds unattainable by traditional hardware. By leveraging unique physics, these machines solve problems that are currently too difficult for even the most powerful supercomputers.
Qubits are the fundamental building blocks of quantum computing. While a classical bit is restricted to a binary state of 0 or 1, a qubit utilizes a property called superposition to represent both states at once. This allows quantum computers to process a vast amount of data in parallel. When qubits are linked through entanglement, the state of one can instantly influence another, drastically increasing the computational power and efficiency of the system.
Superposition and entanglement are the two core pillars of quantum mechanics that power quantum computers. Superposition allows a qubit to exist in multiple configurations simultaneously until it is measured. Entanglement is a unique connection where qubits become linked; changing the state of one qubit immediately affects its partner, regardless of distance. Together, these phenomena enable quantum systems to explore millions of possibilities at once, which is why they represent the future of computing.
