However, her story was sidelined by the NAACP because they felt that Parks, an adult with a professional background, was a more "marketable" face for the movement. Despite being less famous, Colvin was one of the four plaintiffs in the landmark legal case that eventually led to the desegregation of the Montgomery bus system.
