Ludwig Josef Johann Wittgenstein (1889–1951) fue un filósofo austriaco-británico cuya obra fundamental, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, redefinió la filosofía analítica y la lógica del siglo XX. Nacido en el seno de una rica familia industrial vienesa, Wittgenstein estudió ingeniería antes de volcarse a la filosofía bajo la tutela de Bertrand Russell en Cambridge.

Su Tractatus, escrito durante la Primera Guerra Mundial mientras servía en el ejército austriaco, sostiene que el lenguaje y la lógica estructuran nuestra comprensión de la realidad, concluyendo con el famoso dictamen: “De lo que no se puede hablar, hay que callar”.
