Richard Bachman es el seudónimo del autor de terror superventas Stephen King, quien escribió Thinner (Maleficio) como parte de un atrevido experimento literario para publicar de manera más prolífica y explorar una ficción más oscura y cruda. Publicada en 1984, Thinner es un thriller sobrenatural que examina temas de culpa, venganza y horror corporal a través de la historia de un hombre maldecido a consumirse.
