Sobre el autor de El futuro que elegimos

Christiana Figueres, coautora de El futuro que elegimos: Guía para optimistas ante la crisis climática, es una reconocida diplomática costarricense y arquitecta del histórico Acuerdo de París de 2015. Como Secretaria Ejecutiva de la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (2010–2016), catalizó una colaboración global sin precedentes, logrando compromisos de 195 naciones para limitar el calentamiento a 1,5 °C.

Nacida en San José dentro de un legado político —su padre fue presidente de Costa Rica en tres ocasiones—, Figueres combina su experiencia en cooperación internacional y defensa de las energías renovables para trazar soluciones climáticas viables en esta obra de no ficción prescriptiva.

Socia fundadora de Global Optimism y convocante de Mission2020, Figueres forma parte de juntas directivas que incluyen a ClimateWorks y el Instituto de Recursos Mundiales (WRI). Sus charlas TED y discursos de apertura en Davos y en las cumbres COP han moldeado el discurso climático convencional.
