Manel Loureiro es el autor de superventas internacionales de Apocalipsis Z: El principio del fin y una figura destacada en el terror y la ficción de zombis en España. Nacido el 30 de diciembre de 1975 en Pontevedra, España, Loureiro estudió derecho en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela y trabajó como presentador de televisión y guionista antes de dedicarse por completo a la escritura.

Su trilogía Apocalipsis Z comenzó como un blog viral en 2007, atrayendo a más de 1,5 millones de lectores en línea antes de convertirse en un fenómeno editorial.

Apodado "el Stephen King español" por La Voz de Galicia, la narrativa visceral de Loureiro mezcla el terror de supervivencia con profundidad emocional, ambientada en escenarios españoles ricamente detallados. Su obra ha sido traducida a más de diez idiomas y publicada en veinte países. Más allá de la trilogía, ha escrito El último pasajero, un thriller sobre un barco fantasma nazi, y Fulgor, demostrando su versatilidad en diversos géneros.

Actualmente reside en Pontevedra, donde ejerce la abogacía mientras colabora con ABC, Cadena SER y GQ España. La serie Apocalipsis Z fue adaptada en una película de Prime Video en 2024, llevando su visión apocalíptica a las audiencias de streaming de todo el mundo.
