Lemony Snicket is the pen name of Daniel Handler, an American author known for darkly comic, gothic-tinged children’s literature. He is best known for A Series of Unfortunate Events and All the Wrong Questions. His books have sold tens of millions of copies worldwide and been translated into dozens of languages.

Biografía y Trayectoria del Autor

Lemony Snicket is the pen name and literary persona created by Daniel Handler, who was born on February 28, 1970, in San Francisco and later earned a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1992. His route to publication was indirect: after college he discarded an early novel, returned to San Francisco, worked administrative and radio jobs, moved to New York, and endured repeated rejection before his first published novel, The Basic Eight, finally appeared. A key turning point came when he was urged to write the kind of children’s books he himself had wanted to read; another came when the name “Lemony Snicket,” first improvised for a research call, became the voice through which that work could be done.
