Joy Deangdeelert Cho is a designer, blogger, entrepreneur, and author focused on creativity, entrepreneurship, lifestyle, and children’s books. As founder and creative director of Oh Joy!, she wrote Creative, Inc., Blog, Inc., and Be Curious!. Time twice named her among the internet’s 30 most influential people, and she has over 15 million Pinterest followers. ((https://ohjoy.com/about))
Joy Deangdeelert Cho’s work grew out of an immigrant-family education that began long before her formal design training. Raised in Philadelphia by Thai parents who ran Thai restaurants, she has described a childhood spent in and around those family businesses, folding napkins, making Thai tea, answering phones, and absorbing the discipline of entrepreneurship. That background gave her an early understanding of both hospitality and hard work, even before she pursued design professionally. She later studied at Syracuse University, earning a BFA in Communications Design with a minor in Fibers, then moved to New York, where she worked as a graphic designer at a boutique agency and for Cynthia Rowley’s Swell line for Target.
