De même, la langue et les traditions ont été préservées par les conteurs itinérants et les moines exilés en Europe qui continuaient de copier des manuscrits. Cette résilience a permis à l'âme du pays de perdurer alors même que les structures de pouvoir gaéliques avaient disparu.
