James C. Scott (1936–2024) war Sterling Professor Emeritus für Politikwissenschaft an der Yale University. Er war ein wegweisender Gelehrter der anarchistischen Theorie, des bäuerlichen Widerstands und der Dynamik zwischen Staat und Gesellschaft.
