Colin Ward (1924–2010) war ein wegweisender anarchistischer Denker und Sozialhistoriker, der vor allem für sein Werk Anarchy in Action bekannt ist – eine fundamentale Arbeit der politischen Theorie, die den Anarchismus als praktischen Rahmen für das tägliche Leben neu definierte. Als ausgebildeter Architekt und ehemaliger Herausgeber der einflussreichen Zeitschriften Freedom (1947–1960) und Anarchy (1961–1970) spezialisierte sich Ward auf Stadtplanung, informelle Bildung und soziale Organisation an der Basis.
