Michael Connelly ist der Bestsellerautor von Der Mandant (Originaltitel: The Lincoln Lawyer) und ein ehemaliger Polizeireporter, dessen Hintergrund im investigativen Journalismus seinen Justizthrillern und Polizeikrimis besondere Authentizität verleiht. Geboren 1956 in Philadelphia, arbeitete Connelly als Kriminalreporter für die Los Angeles Times, bevor er sich der Belletristik zuwandte.
