Holly Jackson is a British novelist whose rise in suspense fiction was shaped by an early, durable fascination with storytelling. She grew up in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, as the middle child of a BBC production assistant and a camera operator, and she has said she knew by around age eleven that she wanted to write. By fifteen, she had completed a long fantasy manuscript, an early rehearsal for the disciplined plotting that would later define her career. She went on to study at the University of Nottingham and completed a master’s degree in English before returning home and continuing to develop her fiction.
