Bianca Bosker is an American journalist and author whose work examines taste, perception, expertise, and cultural obsession. She is best known for the nonfiction books Cork Dork, an immersive exploration of wine culture, and Get the Picture, a reported journey through the contemporary art world.
Bianca Bosker grew up in Portland, Oregon, an only child whose reading life was shaped by hours in Powell’s Books, before enrolling at Princeton University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Her earliest major book, Original Copies, came out in 2013 and examined China’s “duplitecture” boom through field research and interviews with architects, developers, officials, and homeowners. At the same time, she was building an online journalism career that included serving as a senior tech editor at HuffPost, an early sign of the range and adaptability that would define her nonfiction.
