出生: July 24, 1802 – Villers-Cotterêts, Aisne, France
Alexandre Dumas was a French novelist and dramatist best known for historical adventure fiction, especially The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. A prolific 19th-century author, he also wrote plays and travel works; his novels have been translated widely and adapted into hundreds of films, television series, and stage productions.
Alexandre Dumas, known as Dumas père, was born in 1802 in Villers-Cotterêts, France, into a family whose history connected provincial France, Caribbean slavery, and the French Revolution. His father, General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, had risen to prominence in the revolutionary armies before dying when his son was still young, leaving the family in reduced circumstances. That loss shaped Dumas’s ambition and sharpened his appetite for advancement. His formal schooling was limited, but he read widely, absorbed history with unusual ease, and developed the polished handwriting that helped him obtain clerical work after moving to Paris in the 1820s. In Paris, he entered a world of theaters, salons, and political excitement that would define his career.
