Jeremie Kubicek grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was already taking Bible courses at Oklahoma Baptist University while still in high school. At OBU he wrestled with business, ministry, and even the possibility of attending Oklahoma State, but he ultimately stayed in Shawnee and graduated in 1993 with a business degree. A formative influence was professor John Cragin, who pushed him to think globally and to see business as a platform for influence. That outlook carried Kubicek to Moscow just after graduation through OBU’s Global Options effort, where he began building consulting work for local and international firms and helped develop the Moscow Economic School.
