Une tentative d'aide trop insistante aurait été vécue comme une intrusion étouffante. L'évitant crée lui-même la distance pour se protéger, mais finit par utiliser cette même distance comme une preuve d'abandon de la part du partenaire, créant ainsi un cercle vicieux intellectuel.

    Contrairement au silence plat qui marque une réelle indifférence, le reproche prouve qu'il reste du ressentiment, donc une émotion mal digérée. C'est souvent une manière de tester le terrain pour voir si vous allez vous justifier, ce qui lui permet de reprendre le pouvoir émotionnel. En vous désignant comme la "mauvaise partenaire", il valide aussi son choix de rupture et évite de se remettre en question.

    La meilleure réponse est de rester calme et détachée en refusant de porter cette fausse culpabilité. Il est conseillé de ne pas entrer dans un débat sur les faits, mais de poser sa vérité sans agressivité, par exemple en disant : « Je regrette que tu aies eu ce sentiment, mais ma porte était ouverte si tu avais exprimé un besoin ». L'objectif est de comprendre que ce reproche dit tout de ses blocages internes et rien sur votre valeur réelle.
