Shane Snow
Shane Snow is an author, entrepreneur, and journalist whose work explores innovation, teamwork, and storytelling. He co-founded Contently and wrote Smartcuts, Dream Teams, and, with Joe Lazauskas, The Storytelling Edge. His reporting and essays have appeared in major publications, and he is widely recognized for award-winning journalism.

Raised in Idaho, Shane Snow grew up with a curious, tinkering mindset, taking apart modems, climbing abandoned potato silos, and reading widely. After time at BYU-Idaho, he earned a master’s from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, bringing entrepreneurial instincts into formal reporting training. His early career began in media, science, and business journalism, then broadened into investigative work on corruption, coverups, and human behavior. A defining turning point came when writing about innovative companies pushed him to build one himself: in 2010 he co-founded Contently, a platform created during a period of upheaval in publishing and built to connect storytellers with publishers and brands.
