Sean Carroll

출생: October 05, 1966 – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Sean Carroll is a theoretical physicist and science writer whose work explores cosmology, quantum mechanics, time, and the philosophy of science. He is the author of The Big Picture, Something Deeply Hidden, and From Eternity to Here, and is widely recognized for making complex ideas accessible to broad audiences through books, essays, and lectures.

전기 및 작가의 여정

Sean Carroll grew up in suburban Pennsylvania and became interested in theoretical physics early, a curiosity that carried him from Pennsbury High School to Villanova University and then to a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1993. His academic path led through postdoctoral work at MIT and UC Santa Barbara, faculty years at the University of Chicago, a long period at Caltech, and later a move to Johns Hopkins, where he became Homewood Professor of Natural Philosophy, alongside an appointment at the Santa Fe Institute. Across those stages, he developed from a cosmologist into a thinker focused on quantum mechanics, spacetime, complexity, and the deep structure of explanation.
