전기 및 작가의 여정

Jean M. Twenge built her career at the intersection of social psychology, cultural change, and public writing. Educated at the University of Chicago, where she earned both a B.A. in psychology and sociology and an M.A. in social sciences in 1993, she went on to complete a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Michigan in 1998. Her doctoral work used cross-temporal meta-analysis to track long-run shifts in traits such as assertiveness, sociability, and anxiety, establishing the method that would shape much of her later scholarship. She later joined San Diego State University, where she is a professor of psychology, and developed a research program focused on how culture affects individuals across generations. Over time, that work expanded into a substantial public profile alongside a record of more than 190 scientific publications and books.
