As children, we're told we can do anything, but as we grow older, we're taught to be "realistic." This becomes our internal naysayer. To overcome this, write down your dreams to transform them into goals, connect with what's at stake emotionally, outline what would have to be true to achieve your vision, determine what actions you can take, set deadlines to create urgency, and review your goals daily to maintain focus.

Prepare thoroughly with briefing materials, remember the show isn't about you but the audience, understand the audience demographics, provide interviewers with questions, craft a concise elevator pitch, listen carefully to questions before answering, keep answers brief and pointed, be energetic and authentic, don't become defensive, and refer listeners back to your offering.
